Hi,

You might try to post a comment on his webpage: Link (http)

I tried to use some of the dictionnaries on this page: Link (http) :pc_user2:
It could be something like "Assumed that content ... money"; couldn't find sense to 'uangivne'.

Good luck!

I assume that uangivne is related to Dutch "aangegeven" or German "angegeben", which would mean declared. (declared value or declared money)

bonjour cousin aapshop,

well, in america 'declared' money to the IRS (tax service) is a bad word, we get taxed on it. :angryfire: :wink2::gna:

HI.

In Denmark and all over the world you must not put money and not send money in not registered leters.

I will translate this "formodes at indeholde uangivne penge" as

This letter surely contains money.

Uangivne I will translateas Not told.

I hope that this will help you.

Regards Benny (PIPELINE) from Denmark.

PS: Don't forget to take a look at my about 2700 auctions here at Delcampe

Hello Pipeline,
Thanks for the translation. May I use your knowledge on Danish post to go on with further questions on this envelop.
I suppose that the post not put the stamp only to say 'we have seen it'. What were the postal consequences of the use of this stamp? Was the shipment returned to sender? Was a tax collected? Or something else?
I cannot find any other postal mark of inscrition on the enveloppe.
Thanks, Trickgh

bonjour benny,
your post reminds cajun of another 'benny' in uniform. the famous 'comedien anglais' benny hill is pictured here at the madame trussard's wax museum.

and thanks for your translation. the fish lacks vital links for the nordic languages. and others.

amities,

Hi again.

I’ve sent your question to Post Danmark, and I’ve just got an answer back.

In good old days it was not aloud to send money in ordinary covers, and if the post office thought that a cover contains money, the post office put the away, and write to the receiver, that he/she have to come to the post office to open the cover.

If the cover contains money, the post man count the money and you have to pay some % in fee (they don’t know how much),
and then he/she got the cover with the money.

Now a days it isn’t forbidden to send money in ordinary covers, but Post Danmark told us, not to put money in ordinary covers, and they don’t look after it.

I hope that this helps you a little.

Regards

Benny
