hi all,
as a seller and buyer on delcampe, i have been stung many times by buyers who after repeated contacts by email have either refused to pay for the stamps or lots they won; or did not read my description about payment rules, and then refused to pay. in either case, i was the loser and not paid. seb delcampe does have a mechanism in place to make your case for this and i surely use it, and i must say with great success. but i believe there are no rules present when a person joins the site to warn them of this bad behavior; or a warning on each and every auction that is placed on the site. i suggest to mr. delcampe that a warning of non-payment and 0 ratings more than an allowable amount makes for automatic suspension from the site. this should make the bidders more responsible for their actions. now as to the fairness, i also realize that computers break down and that human beings are beset by personal tragedies and problems. i am not an ogre and wish for someone to suffer at my hands. payments are sent and lost in the mails as this has happened to me. and a negative rating can happen for a number of reasons. this is why i leave it to mr. delcampe to use his wise judgement in settling the disputes as this is his site. all i ask is that a warning be put on the auctions and in the rules. thanks for the right to speak, it is more than g.w. bush gives in my country.
a bientot,

Why warn someone that there is repercution on bad behaviour ? Is this not an ordinary rule of society..?

I can not see any use in this, to confront people every single auction with such a negative statement/atmosphere?

If people get repetitive 0% feedbacks their account is cancelled by Seb as soon as someone notifies him of this, or as soon as the system detects this. It is not too much trouble for a seller who is bothered by this to send a small message to Seb.

hi moondude,
perhaps you are right, we don't want to 'scare' those customers off. but i have put a warning in my description html to warn my buyers if your going to buy from me, then pay for the lot. i don't say what the consequences are if they don't. but they find out if they get enough bad ratings and don't pay. i have been ripped off several times for hundreds of dollars and i, frankly, am tired of it. that is why i suggested this rule in the first place. and it has happened to other seller friends of mine too. they just don't advertise it like i do. ebay has its mechanisms in place for dealing with non-payers, i just feel seb should do the same on his site, and he does. but the rules for when someone joins are not specific for non-payment and that is what my complaint is really about. this is where some enforcement needs to be made or changed. it is a difficult challenge i know. and again, i leave it to the wisdom of mr. delcampe.
a bientot,
